FABULOUS HANDWRITING

Matthew Essex has been working really hard to improve his handwriting - below are some 'before' and 'after' shots of his handwriting; you can really see the improvement.

Here is what Matthew said about his writing:

Here is an example of my handwriting from January and this is my improved handwriting now.  I have recently had handwriting lessons with Mrs Spence  and I have revisited how to use cursive writing.  I have had to work hard to get out of the habit of writing untidily and I have been practicing it in my lessons and at home.   I am proud of  my work and I will continue to practice using cursive writing in all my classes.  It will help me to progress and all my teachers will be able to read my writing!

THE GLOBE THEATRE - IN CAKE!

Mrs Preston's Year 8s have been working on a Shakespeare project in English. They learned all about Shakespeare, his life and his works. As part of their final presentation, they taught the class all about the Globe Theatre. This was no ordinary presentation though - they had made a Globe Theatre made entirely from cake, including the Tudor beams on the outside!
